Probable challenger for the UFC light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg.), Jiri Prochazka has been preparing to fight the champion Glover Teixeira in an unusual way. In a video published on 'Instagram', the Czech showed his preparation – which includes delivering 500 blows to trees a day.

“It’s good for the body to be in the technique to be like a rock. Then I can pass through the opponent's body with my technique – which can be more dangerous. It's a good workout for the body. After throwing around 500 punches, I go to the bag, which becomes easy for me”, said Prochazka in an interview with 'The MMA Hour'.
So far, the tactic seems to be having an effect on the Czech, who scored two brutal knockouts against Volkan oezdemir and most recently Dominick reyes. Currently, Jiri occupies second place in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg) and has a record of 28 positive results, three negative results and one draw.
Prochazka must now face Glover Teixeira – who became the second oldest fighter (42 years old) to wear an Ultimate belt. At the UFC 267, the Brazilian finished Jan Blachowicz with a rear naked choke in the first round. The athletes are rumored for a fight in 2022.
