To make her point, the Bellator champion used her old rivalry with Ronda Rousey, who, for years, provoked the Brazilian, but never made a commitment to a clash. “I think this fight with Kayla should happen, but I don't think she will leave the PFL. I don't think the UFC will pay her what she receives and I don't know what it will be like with Bellator. Anyway, we can do a crossover event, with Kayla representing the PFL and me representing Bellator”, said Cyborg, in an interview with the 'Trocação Franca' podcast.
Although the idea of a joint promotion is encouraging, Cris is cautious and avoids assuming that the conflict will actually get off the ground. To this end, the Brazilian legend recalls the rivalry he had with Ronda Rousey, with whom he had friction, but the confrontation never happened.
“Ronda never wanted this fight. In fact, Kayla is doing what Ronda did. If you analyze it, Ronda started talking about me when I was Strikeforce champion, trying to tarnish my image, saying a lot of things, because people didn't know who she was. Then, they found out who Ronda was. Kayla is following the same path. She's talking about me and saying my name so people know her. Good thing I never needed it. I always did my best inside the cage,” she concluded.
While Cyborg continues to manage an established career in MMA, Harrison is gradually writing his name in the sport. So far, the two-time Olympic champion is undefeated and is the biggest name in the PFL.
