Criminally accused of assault, Melvin Guillard escapes from prison

Lightweight, who fights in July, will have to serve time on probation and community service

Melvin Guillard's life isn't going very well inside the Octagon. Since he left Greg Jackson's team, the American lightweight has suffered four defeats in five fights. The fighter's situation wasn't the best outside the box either. cage, but, at least in this aspect, the athlete received some comforting news.

Accused of assault in the state of New Mexico, in the United States, Guillard was awaiting the sentence that could send him to prison. However, according to what was reported on the Sports Illustrated magazine website, he escaped being imprisoned. The “Young Killer” was ordered to perform community service on probation until June 2015, in addition to paying bail.

Back with the team where he enjoyed his best professional moments, Guillard has a fight scheduled for July 27th, when he will face Mac Danzig at UFC On FOX 8. The event will be led by a flyweight title fight between the champion Demetrious Johnson and challenger John Moraga.
