“On December 11th, we will step into the Octagon to prove who is the best and who is not. There isn't much to talk about. We'll know when we come face to face. I believe and trust in myself, I think I have more weapons than him (Poirier). For everyone who thinks he's number one, watch his last fight and then mine. Notice what he is good at and what I am good at. Compare everything and see what happens”, said Do Bronx, in an interview with 'Trocação Franca'.

A UFC veteran and owner of a convincing winning streak, Charles believes that his experience gained over the years will be decisive for the main fight of the UFC. UFC 269. The athlete then continued analyzing possible scenarios for his first title defense.

“Switchers take him to the ground very easily, and you know what happens if I take him down. If he stands up to me, you know I'm hitting hard. It will catch fire on December 11th. I have firepower in my hands and also jiu-jitsu. I have a lot of respect for him (Dustin), but I want to remain champion and continue with my belt here”, he concluded.

In December, Do Bronx will be able to extend his undefeated streak with Ultimate gloves. Today, the São Paulo native has nine consecutive victories and his last stumble happened in December 2017.

Responsible for trying to ruin Charles' party, Poirier is also having a good time within the organization. Former interim lightweight champion, the North American has three consecutive victories, two of them over Conor McGregor. The athlete's last setback came in April 2019, when he was overcome by Khabib Nurmagomedov, in a clash to unify the lightweight title.
