Dana White opens the door to a trilogy between Holloway and Volkanovski and rules out McGregor

In an interview after UFC Las Vegas 42, the president stated that he sees no other path for the former champion and stated that there will not be a duel against the Irishman.

As far as Dana White is concerned, the path is open for the third duel between Alexander Volkanovsky e Max Holloway. In a press conference after the UFC Las Vegas 42 this Saturday (13), the president claimed that he sees no other possible path for the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) and ruled out a confrontation against Conor McGregor.

“I don’t know what’s next for Max (Holloway), but it makes sense to see him against Volkanovski again. Conor is not in the running, he is still injured. Talking about Conor is nonsense”, added Dana.

Max Holloway e Conor McGregor They faced each other in August 2013, at the time, both athletes were prospects in the featherweight division. The Irishman beat the Hawaiian in a unanimous decision by the judges and continued on his way towards the belt, won in 2015.

Featherweight champion between 2017 and 2019, Holloway was dethroned by Alexander Volkanovsky and was also defeated in the rematch after two very even matches. The 'Blessed' recovered with two victories in a row, against Calvin kattar e Yair Rodriguez. The fighter has an MMA record of 23 triumphs and six setbacks.
