One week after the “Fight of the Year” between Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler, UFC 268, MMA fans were treated to yet another true war, this time lasting five rounds, between Max Holloway e Yair Rodriguez. Responsible for the main fight of the UFC Las Vegas 42, the featherweights gave a show for 25 minutes, with the former champion winning a unanimous decision.

During a press conference held after the event, UFC president Dana White praised both fighters and stated that the fight was one of the best he had ever seen.
"Insane. It was one of the best fights I've ever seen. The fact that Yair (Rodriguez) has been away for two years, comes back and has a performance like that is unbelievable. I didn't think Max would make it past the second round with the calf kicks, but he got to the fifth round and I thought he wouldn't be able to walk out of the octagon. Now he's back there walking as if nothing had happened and saying his leg is fine. He’s a lunatic, it’s unbelievable how tough this guy is,” praised Dana White.
The UFC president stated that, just like the duel between Gaethje and Chandler, this Saturday's fight could make anyone become a fight fan.
“This fight would make anyone a fan of fighting, not just MMA. It was one of the most incredible fights. Forrest (Griffin) posted, I don't know if you saw it, saying that every week the biggest fight we've ever seen in the UFC takes place. This is literally what has happened. One unbelievable fight after another. If Gaethje vs. Chandler didn't make you a fight fan, nothing will. Chris Leben He said that now we have to have two 'Fight of the Year' awards”, concluded Dana.
