Cris Cyborg's opponent, Sinead Kavanagh reveals advice from Conor McGregor

Close to the biggest challenge of her career, Sinead Kavanagh received advice from someone who has already shocked the world as a challenger once. On the eve of the confrontation against Chris Cyborg No. Bellator 271, the Irishwoman revealed that she was encouraged by Conor McGregor to be mirrored in the 'Notório' duel against José Aldo, which occurred in 2015. The statement was given in the 'half day' of this Friday's show (12).

“He reached out to me. I was talking to him. Conor wants me to do well, of course. He wants me to shine. I'm his friend, you know? He wants me to do some work José Aldo' with her. Thirteen seconds is the lucky number,” said Kavanagh.

Even with a lot of respect for the featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg), the Irishwoman stated that she will do her best inside the circular cage to come out with the victory and the belt.

“Of course she is a great fighter, a legend. But I have to put that aside. I need to make a name for myself. I'm ready to put myself on the line and do this. No matter who stands in my way, I will leave my soul in that cage fight night. Win, lose or draw, I will know that I did my best”, concluded the Irishwoman.

Hired by Bellator in 2016, Kavanagh has been riding two consecutive victories in the company. Her last loss was in July 2019, to veteran Leslie Smith. The Irishwoman has a record of seven triumphs and four setbacks in professional MMA.
