UFC plans middleweight title rematch between Adesanya and Whittaker for February, says website

After much speculation about a definitive date, the rematch between Israel adesanya e Robert whittaker, valid for the Ultimate middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg), is close to being scheduled. According to 'MMA fighting', the duel between the athletes should take place on February 12th, at UFC 271, scheduled to be the organization’s second event in 2022.

Considered, by many, as one of the biggest names in Ultimate today, Israel adesanya is going to his fourth defense of the division belt, having won Yoel romero, Paulo borrachinha e Marvin vettori after the first meeting against the Australian. At 32 years old, the Nigerian has a record of 21 triumphs and one setback in his career.

Another big name in the middleweight category, Robert whittaker tries to regain the title he held between 2017 and 2019. The Australian, since the first meeting against the current champion, has won victories against Darren till, Jared Cannonier e Kelvin Gastelum. He, aged 30, has a record of 23 positive results and five negative results.
