The new victory of Kamaru Usman about Colby covington in the main fight of UFC 268 this Saturday (6) made the Nigerian reach a streak of 15 fights without losing. The middleweight champion is now just one fight away from breaking the Anderson Silva – who still remains the athlete with the longest unbeaten period.

In a post-event interview, Ultimate's president, Dana White, stated that he believes Usman will beat 'Spider's' record in the organization. The 'boss' even talks about the legacy that Kamaru can still continue at the top for a long time.
“Look at the level of competition he faces. I mean, all these (welterweight) guys are really good. It's impressive. I think if he keeps winning, he'll get a cut so big that no one will ever break it. We know Anderson Silva. If we look at what he did in the period of 16 record fights (without losing) and look at Kamaru with 15 now, we realize that he can still do it for much longer”, analyzed Dana.
After beating Covington in the rematch, Usman reached his fifth title defense and is only behind Georges St-Pierre (9) among the champions with the most belts defended in welterweight history (under 77kg.).
