After further consolidating his name in the history of MMA, Kamaru Usman continues with morals, but, for Dana White, there are limits. After yet another title defense by the welterweight champion (up to 77kg), the president of Ultimate ruled out fulfilling the Nigerian's desire to face the legendary Canelo Álvarez in a boxing superfight. At the press conference after the UFC 268, the president even mocked the idea.

“I watched the Canelo fight tonight (in which the Mexican knocked out Caleb Plant). He doesn't want to face Canelo (laughs). Let's stop this nonsense. If Canelo wants to fight here (MMA), let's do it. You don’t want to box Canelo,” he concluded.

On the same night that Usman shared the octagon with Colby covington, Álvarez took to the ring to put his super middleweight belts on the line. In front of Plant, the Mexican vHe was dominant again and overcame the challenge with a tough knockout in the 11th round.

Ready to test himself in boxing, Kamaru has been asking for a confrontation against the Mexican legend of the ‘noble art’ for some time now. As far as White depends, however, the duel will only remain in the imagination.

If the dream of boxing is distant, in MMA, Usman continues to live the best moment of his career. This Saturday, the athlete beat Covington again and made his fifth welterweight belt defense.
