After being criticized by the North American and having his talent questioned, the Swede responded to the provocations in style. Not satisfied, Chimaev continued publishing photos in which Colby appears in 'danger' during his confrontation with Kamaru, in UFC 245.
The trigger for the controversy involving the highlights of the welterweight division (up to 77kg.) was a speech by Covington at a promotional press conference for the UFC 268. At the time, the North American was dismissive of the Swede's talent and even mocked the drama experienced by his pupil due to a serious case of Covid-19.
While Khamzat managed to return to MMA with a show, after recovering from the consequences of the disease, Colby is close to another big challenge in his career. This Saturday (6), the North American revives the rivalry with Kamaru Usman, in a clash valid for the under-77kg group title.
