With much speculation about his future, junior gypsy gave indications of what direction he could take in his career. Former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg), the Brazilian signed a contract with 'S-Jam Boxing', who promotes boxing fights, and stated that he aims to become world champion.

“My focus is to be world champion. I know it's difficult, I know it's complicated, but that's why I'm here. Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury. One day I’m going to fight these guys and I’m going to beat them,” said Cigano.
The desire to switch to boxing has always been present in Brazilians, who want to test themselves in the sport. In addition to the 'noble art', he has also participated in an 'All Elite Wrestling (AEW)', responsible for promoting pro-wrestling fights in their arenas.
Released by the UFC in March this year, Junior Gypsy has not performed in mixed martial arts since December 2020, when he was knocked out by the interim champion, Cyryl Gane. Professional since 2006, the Brazilian has a record of 21 positive results and nine negative results in his career. In his career, he has already beaten big names like Fabricio Werdum, Mirko Cro Cop, Cain Velazquez, Frank mir, Mark Hunt e Stipe Miocic.
