In the main fight UFC 267, last Saturday (30), Glover Teixeira made history at the end Jan Blachowicz in the second round and win the organization's light heavyweight belt (up to 93 kg). In a press conference held after the event, Dana White echoed Glover Teixeira and praised the new champion.
"That guy (Glover Teixeira) never gave up, despite all the adversity he faced in his career. And here he is at 42 years old, just a few days after his birthday he won the title. It's a very good story. It couldn’t be better,” said Dana White.
The president of Ultimate revealed that he had a quick conversation with the new light heavyweight champion after the victory. During the press conference, Dana revealed what Glover said.
“He told me that he should have joined the Ultimate Fighter, but he had a problem with his visa and how it changed the course of his life. Not being able to enter the country, when he should be fighting in the UFC. He told the whole story. I told him better late than never,” Dana said.
Glover Teixeira won the light heavyweight belt two days after turning 42 years old. The Brazilian became the second oldest champion in the organization's history, behind only Randy Couture.
