Borrachinha guarantees that he will not apologize to Vettori after the problem with the scale

No excuses. After failing to reach the established weight to perform at middleweight (up to 83,9kg.) and being the subject of two last-minute changes, Paulo borrachinha ensures that he does not feel guilty about the unforeseen situation in his confrontation with Marvin vettori. In the press conference after the show this Saturday (23), the Brazilian explained why he has a clear conscience about the changes.

“No way (about apologizing). I came here and the UFC suggested that we fight at catchweight or at light heavyweight (up to 93kg). I said, 'let's do it'. I don't care about the weight. It was a fair fight. Both guys made weight on the same day, same limit. It can’t be fairer than that,” he said.

A standout middleweight, Borrachinha had never failed to make a weight cut in his career in Ultimate. The failure this week, followed by the two changes, put the Brazilian's future in the category in question.

Moments before the interview with Paulo, Dana White said that the Minas Gerais native would no longer appear in the group in which he fought for the title. For the UFC president, the Tupiniquim now belongs to the light heavyweight division.

In the confrontation against Vettori, Borrachinha once again performed well for the company. The aggressive and forceful style, however, was not enough to convince the three side judges who, after five rounds, gave the Italian victory in a unanimous decision.
