Bellator President praises Fedor Emelianenko after brutal knockout: 'It's the best in history'

It wasn't just the Russians who were excited about the knockout of Fedor Emelianenko about Tim Johnson on Bellator 269. In a post-event press conference, Bellator president Scott Coker valued the level of performance of the 'Last Emperor' in the fight, in addition to citing him as the best in the history of MMA.

“It's interesting to watch Fedor in action, because at 45 years old he can still deliver a performance like that. I had said this week that he seemed very focused on bringing this victory. The entire line drawn by him was successfully achieved. He livened up everyone present. I can’t remember the last time Tim Johnson was knocked out and Fedor proved he’s still the best in history,” said Scott Coker.

In a possible farewell fight, Emelianenko scored a knockout in the first round against Johnson and earned the trust of the public present. The organization's leader now highlighted that 'it was fun' to accompany the Russian in his hometown.

“It was really very special. I've been in the fight business for a long time and it was cool to see him deliver a show in his hometown, in front of his fans. That was actually really fun to watch and it was a really cool night (in Russia),” she concluded.
