“It’s a lot of Barbie and a lot of tattooed plastic dolls fighting each other and talking shit, right? It doesn't matter who you are, whether you win or lose. Your legacy matters. Many UFC champions have already been forgotten. I think we have a voice, we have the opportunity to send a message to different people. I will never shut up. In the situation we are living in, of hunger, disease, calamity throughout the country. Are people still coming to defend this shit? I can’t corroborate that”, said the fighter.

Criticism of the Bolsonaro government: 'a pile of s*** is accumulating and people are applauding'

One of the positions that Livinha Souza makes it clear on his social networks in relation to politics. The fighter did not mince words to say what she thinks about the Bolsonaro government and questioned the motivations of her professional colleagues who defend the current president of the Republic.

“People have to learn that sports idols may not be studied, they may not have the intellectual level to talk about. They are famous people only in fighting and sometimes they don't even understand fighting. I fight and I don't understand fighting. I do mine. Now, you praise a guy like the President of the Republic, who is doing what he is doing? They are numbers. There are no arguments against numbers. I'm not even talking about his personality, who is also an idiot who must not have even studied. In 200 years of parliament, has a project passed? Work is results. If I arrive at the UFC and take ten beatings in ten fights, I'll be sent away. The guy is accumulating a pile of shit and there are people applauding. But you forget one detail: they are well-to-do people. People who arrive here at the UFC and earn 400, 500 thousand reais. Who of you wins this? I don't win. Then it's easy to say that everything is wonderful, not leaving the door of the little loft, swimming pool, training, supplement, sponsor, pretty clothes, mother and father of the family. And the kids who are showing up on the street? That whether or not you give up your job because you watch this shit? That's why I don't care. 'Is your shitty UFC career bigger than your life?'

Livinha Souza revealed that, like most athletes, he receives guidance to avoid topics considered controversial. For her, however, defending her ideals, principles and convictions should be more important than “putting more money in her already full pocket”. The “Brazilian Gangster”, the nickname she uses in her fights, said that it is the lack of positioning that makes Brazil have fewer idols than in the past.

'The collective is bigger than us'

Another agenda openly defended by Livinha Souza on social media is the legalization of marijuana for medicinal and recreational use. The athlete, however, states that issues of collective interest such as health, education and public infrastructure must always be a priority and lamented the individualism present in society.

“The collective is bigger than us, there’s no point. I support the legalization of marijuana, but between legalizing marijuana and improving hospitals, public conditions, infrastructure, will I want to smoke marijuana? You are crazy? Infrastructure, food, education are priorities. But we live in a very individual world, everyone picks up their cell phone, lives their life, stays in their home and that's it. Each one, each one”, concluded the fighter.

Livinha Souza comes into action this Saturday (23), when it faces Randa markos on the preliminary card of UFC Las Vegas 41, in a duel valid for the strawweight division (up to 52 kg).
