Despite being a former strawweight champion (up to 52,1kg.), Joanna Jedrzejczyk is going through one of the biggest questions today. Without acting since March 2020, the Polish woman has been the target of critics due to her period of inactivity and position in the UFC rankings, but decided to give a categorical response on the matter.

“There are a lot of rumors about my fighting career (about) retirement and that I shouldn't be in the rankings because I haven't fought for over 19 months. I'm super happy and proud to be very high in the ranking, but the ranking doesn't fight. I don't care who I'm fighting. Be it nº 10, 5 or 1, white, blue, black or pink belt. The most important thing is how dedicated, motivated, passionate and disciplined I am. My legacy speaks for me. So don't be surprised. I can't wait to fight one hell of a fight for my true (fans), for all of you,” Jedrzejczyk wrote in her 'Instagram' official.

In her last performance, Joanna fought for the belt against Weili Zhang No. UFC 248. At the time, the two athletes fought one of the biggest fights in the history of MMA and the Polish woman was defeated in a split decision by the judges, in addition to a large swelling on her head. Now, she claims that she has 'done her part' and challenges other fighters to take her place in the rankings.

“One more thing, girls: don’t complain about me being at the top of the rankings. I've already done my part, but I know there's much more to come. Take my place. I don't mind. I know my worth and I know who I am”, added the former champion.
