The promotion before Islam makhachev it seems to have no end. In a big moment at lightweight (up to 70,3kg), the Russian was once again compared to the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov, and not by anyone. Manager of the two UFC stars, Ali Abdelaziz went beyond a simple compliment and predicts an even more successful future for his pupil.

“I think he (Makhachev) will be one of the best fighters of all time. It's an improved version of Khabib. I really believe that. At the moment it isn't, but it could be. I think he is a future world champion,” said Abdelaziz, in an interview with 'TMZ Sports'.
With a streak of eight consecutive victories, Islam is heading towards a future fight for the belt, which once belonged to Nurmagomedov. Today, the Russian occupies fifth place in the group led by Charles of the Bronx.
Russian MMA legend, Khabib enchanted while working as a professional in the sport. In the sport, there were 29 fights contested. The fighter hung up his gloves undefeated in October 2020, when he hit Justin gaethje and unified the lightweight title.
Since his retirement, Nurmagomedov has been following in the footsteps of his father, Abdulmanap, who died in July last season, a victim of Covid-19. Today, the athlete dedicates himself to his coaching career and is one of those responsible for Makhachev's success.
Trained by Khabib, Makhachev has a confirmed commitment to Ultimate. In his third fight of the season, the Russian faces Dan Hooker in one of the main battles of the UFC 267, on October 30th.
