Former Bellator lightweight champion mocks title fight between Patrick and Queally: 'It's a joke'

In an interview before this Saturday's event (16), the North American criticized the organization for marrying the next title fight in the category

Former Bellator lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Brent Primus did not hide his dissatisfaction after the organization arranged the duel between Patricky Pitbull and Peter Queally for the category belt,. The American classified the next fight for the division as a 'joke' and explained the reason for his line of reasoning. The statement was made on the media day of the Bellator 268 this Saturday (16).

“This is a joke, man. Come on guys, how can Patricky fight for the world title if he's coming off two defeats? And Queally didn't fight anyone, you know? He's fought twice in the last three and a half years or so. I don’t see how this fight makes sense,” said Primus.

Outraged by the duel between Patrick and Queally, the North American promised to win Ben henderson next Saturday, to then dethrone the new category champion.

“It’s crazy for me and it motivates me a little more. So, I'm going to crush Ben (Henderson), and then I'm going to beat the crap out of whoever wins this fight”, concluded Brent.

After winning the belt over Michael chandler in June 2017, Primus was dethroned in the rematch in December 2018. Since then, the North American has recorded three victories and only one defeat in the organization. The fighter has a record of 10 triumphs and only two setbacks.
