Brazilian promise in straws (up to 52,1kg.), Ariane Sorriso will have a tough commitment this weekend. Opponent of istela nunes in the Tupiniquim confrontation of UFC Las Vegas 40, this Saturday (16), the combatant foresees a quarry. Before the duel, the São Paulo native spoke exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS, analyzing the clash, and took the opportunity to 'poke' some of her division mates.

No UFC Las Vegas 40, Ariane will not experience an unprecedented experience in her career. Used to facing compatriots throughout her career in MMA, the Brazilian spoke about how she feels about having to perform her duties.
“If you can avoid it, it’s better. We prefer to face athletes from other countries, but it's work. We are here to work. So, we do our best to win, regardless of the opponent,” she said.
Does experience count? Ariane responds
In her third UFC fight, Sorriso will face an opponent with less than half of her number of MMA commitments. The São Paulo native then talks about her experience standing out in a professional clash.
“Of course, experience counts a lot. I think I’m a more complete person in MMA, so let’s go for the win no matter what,” she said.
Opponent analysis
Even though she is more experienced, Ariane knows that any carelessness can be fatal in front of Istela. Sorriso, therefore, showed that he had knowledge about his rival at UFC Vegas.
“She is an athlete who came from striking, very good, but I am also good at striking. Then it will be war. We’re going to put on a show, I’m sure,” she assured.

Willing to follow the trajectory towards the top of the division led by Rose namajunas, Ariane Sorriso took the moment to criticize some fellow strawweights. According to the fighter, the group ends up being harmed by the inactivity of fighters who remain in the rankings, even without performing for some time.
“The category is very busy. There are athletes, for example Felice herrig, who had surgery – I've had three surgeries – and she's still there today. You need to get these athletes to fight. I want to face her right away, if the UFC gives me the opportunity. (Cláudia) Gadelha is also in the rankings and wants to choose a fight. She hasn't fought in a long time. She also has Joanna (Jedrzejczyk). It’s a category where there are a lot of girls wanting to reach the top, and a lot of girls stalling, choosing to fight,” she explained.

Known for her physical strength, Ariane has in mind how she intends to win at the weekend. The fighter wants to use her main characteristic to defeat her compatriot at the weekend.
“As I have a lot of knockouts, I want one more (laughs). I want to reach the 10th knockout in my career”, he concluded.

At 28, Ariane Sorriso is heading towards his 16th fight as a professional in MMA. Today, the São Paulo native has 13 wins and two losses in her career.
In his debut fight in the UFC, istela nunes, 29, will make his eighth clash in the sport. The Paraná native has six wins, one setback and one 'no contest'.
