“If I think Henry (Cejudo) is going to beat Alexander (Volkanovski) and retire again, I won't get involved in that. I value the relationship with the UFC and Dana (White). When I asked Henry if he would defend the title, he said: 'Absolutely. And, if I lose, I'll go back to the roosters'”, said Abdelaziz, in an interview with 'TSN'.
Despite having surprised the world of combat sports by 'hanging up his gloves' after winning Dominick Cruz, Henry Cejudo keep training. He is even helping Weili Zhang e Deiveson Figueiredo for their respective title fights. Now, Ali claims that the 'Triple C' just wanted to take a breather in his career and his retirement will not be permanent.
“He has competed at a very high level since he was 12 years old. Sometimes not just physically, but mentally. He wanted to spend some time away from competition. At the moment, he is at the gym, helping with the training (of other athletes) and just wants to (return to) competing”, added the businessman.
Today, aged 34, Henry Cejudo boasts a record with 16 triumphs and two setbacks in mixed martial arts. In his career, the 'Triple C' has already beaten names like Demetrious Johnson, TJ Dillashaw, Marlon moraes e Dominick Cruz.
