O SUPER FIGHTS contacted the Brazilian's manager, Wallid Ismail, who revealed that he did not know the reasons, but confirmed the postponement of the fight. The UFC has not yet commented on this issue.
“We don’t know why, but the UFC can count on Deiveson (Figueiredo)’s gratitude,” said Wallid Ismail.
The trilogy between the competitors is worth the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg) and is the Brazilian's chance to regain his title. In the first meeting, which took place in December 2020, Figueiredo had a point reduced by the judges and, in a balanced fight, drew with Moreno.
In June of this year, in the rematch, the Mexican was inspired and submitted the Brazilian with a rear naked choke in the third round.
In preparation for the third duel, Deiveson Figueiredo left the rivalry with Henry Cejudo aside and will train with the former Ultimate champion. Professional since 2012, he has a record of 20 triumphs, two setbacks and one draw in his career.
