Nevada Athletic Commission releases final UFC 160 attendance and revenue data

Numbers were higher than those initially published, but well below the biggest brands in the place

On May 25th, it was played in Las Vegas, Nevada, the UFC 160, which featured a heavyweight belt dispute between Cain Velazquez e Antonio Pezão, in addition to the duel that was worth the category's challenger position between Junior Gypsy e Mark Hunt.

The event took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the main stage in the world's fight capital. On the day of the event, the UFC released initial figures on attendance and income. UFC 160 attracted an audience of 12.380 MMA fans, which produced revenue of US$2.942.365. The audience was the result of 10.075 tickets sold initially and 2.305 additional ones. At the time of the event, the MGM Grand Garden Arena had 1.403 unoccupied seats. The average ticket price was US$216,97, which represents approximately R$465,00.

The income obtained at UFC 160 was a far cry from the UFC box office champions at the MGM Grand hotel. The leader is UFC 148, which featured a rematch between Anderson Silva e Chael Sonnen, which raised US$6.901.655 from an audience of 15.104. The record for a fight event at the MGM Grand belongs to the boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Oscar De La Hoya, held in 2007, which generated income of US$18.419.200 and a paying audience of 17.078 people (with the average ticket price over a thousand dollars).
