“I just found out at 3:15 in the morning that I have five fractures in my orbital bone and that I will have to have surgery today. I wanted to break the news to my fans, friends and family that I will be fine. Include me in your prayers. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared. Let’s see what happens,” wrote Guillard.

With stints in organizations such as UFC, Bellator and WSOF (now PFL), the American hasn't known what it means to win since July 2014. After knocking out Brazilian Gesias Cavalcante at 'WSOF 11', Guillard entered a complicated phase in his career and since then they have suffered nine consecutive defeats. Melvin has 56 fights in his career and has won 32 victories, suffered 22 setbacks and had two 'no result' fights.
