Dana White fulfilled the promise he made after TJ Grant's surprising victory over Gray Maynard, on May 25th, and confirmed the Canadian as the next challenger for the organization's lightweight title. This Tuesday (4) the date of the confrontation was set: August 31, in the main fight of UFC 164.
Grant, who is on a good run in Ultimate, with five consecutive victories, has a record of 21 wins and five losses in his career. Henderson, undefeated since he debuted in the UFC for seven fights, has a record of 19 wins and just two losses. Bendo has not lost since December 2010, when he was defeated by Anthony Pettis in the last event of the now defunct WEC.
UFC 164 is scheduled for August 31st, at the Bradley Center, in Milwaukee (USA). In addition to the lightweight belt fight, five other fights have already been announced for the event: Frank mir vs Josh Barnett, Chad Mendes vs Clay guida, Erik Koch vs. Dustin poirier, Ben Rothwell vs. Brandon Vera and Soa Palelei vs. Nikita Krylov.
