On the 6th of November, Rose namajunas defends her belt against the former champion Weili Zhang, in a rematch valid for the strawweights (up to 52,1kg.) in the UFC 268. “I think it's kind of expected that she'll change something. Last time, it didn't work out well for her. Whatever she wants to do, I'm sure she'll be motivated and ready to face me. She may be more motivated than ever and wants to present a better version of herself. So, I have to be ready for it, no matter what,” said Namajunas.
Professional since 2013, Rose managed to win the category belt in 2017, by overcoming Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the first time. And then, she also beat the Polish one, a year later. A 'Thug', however, lost his title against Jessica Stacker and had the chance to get it back in April, when he knocked out Zhang in the first round, in a duel at UFC 261. The American now has a record of ten triumphs and four setbacks in her career.
On the other hand, Weili enjoyed a rise in Ultimate by achieving five consecutive victories, two of which were for the title – which he won against Bate-Estaca and defended against Joanna. The Chinese, however, suffered its first setback in the organization precisely against Rose namajunas and is willing to 'give change' to get the strap back. In its trajectory, there are 21 positive results and two negative results.
