Claressa Shields sets date for her debut in the PFL lightweight tournament

In no rush to evolve in mixed martial arts, the two-time Olympic boxing champion declared that she intends to take a bigger leap in the organization only in 2023

Even with all the hype surrounding his steps in MMA, Claressa shields You don’t want to rush your career. In an interview with the website 'B.J. Penn', the two-time Olympic boxing champion declared that she intends to continue evolving before facing the great PFL fighters and set the date on which she intends to participate in the lightweight tournament (up to 70,3kg) for the first time.

“I would like it to be next year, if I can get experience. The thing is, I could go in next year and probably beat some girls, but you're going to be playing for a million dollars. You shouldn't go there just to say you beat some girls. No, I want to be able to have enough skill and knowledge to feel like I can beat everyone in the tournament. So I think 2023 will be my year. In 2022, we will continue building”, stated Claressa.
