Author of a spectacular knockout over Gaetano Pirello in the UFC Las Vegas 38, Douglas D'Silva spoke about his motivation to seek victory. The Brazilian fighter said that his wife's pregnancy gave an extra boost to his training and set a possible date for his return to the octagon. The statement was given in an interview after the show.

“It's a wonderful feeling to be back in the game, overcoming things that happened, removing a lot of weight, which for me is the biggest battle. It's a difficult thing to explain (fatherhood), but it gave me the strength to overcome this monster weight, which was a record. So, my manager called me and said that he has already spoken to Dana White, so I hope that in January, after balancing things at home, I will be back”, said Douglas.

Hired by the UFC in 2013, Douglas has five wins and four losses in the organization. With two fights in 2021, the Brazilian athlete was defeated by Lerone murphy in April and won again after a beautiful knockout over Gaetano Pirello last Saturday (02).
