“In all sincerity, I will probably persist until I have another fight. Let's do it with five rounds. Why not? Let's fight longer. If this happened at the end of the third (divided decision by the judges), I would have two more rounds to find you and finish it the right way”, said Paige, in an excerpt released by 'MMA Fighting'.
Despite accepting a new reunion with Lima, Page may have come closer to any professional athlete's dream. With the victory over the former champion, the Englishman put himself in a prominent position for a future title fight, which currently belongs to Yaroslav Amosov.
The dispute between Douglas and Michael, in addition to the long-awaited rematch within Bellator, marked the meeting of two great references in the category. While, before the clash, the Brazilian occupied second place in the rankings, behind only the champion, Page was right behind, in third.
The first meeting between the fighters took place in 2019. At that time, the Englishman was considered a bet by the company and would face his biggest challenge in his career. Lima, however, beat his opponent with a devastating knockout, nullifying his rival's provocative style inside the circular cage.
