Retired since 2019, the North American 'nudges' and reinforces his desire to return to the sport and try for a third belt in Ultimate

After defending the featherweight title (up to 65,7kg.) in a true battle against Brian ortega No. UFC 266, Alexander Volkanovsky returned to live with the provocations of Henry Cejudo. Willing to resume his career, which was interrupted in 2019, the American rekindled his rivalry with the Australian. In a provocative tone, 'Triplo C' used social media to provoke the athlete.

“The real Alexander (Alexander, 'the Great') conquered the world at the age of 20. You were almost hanged by a model (Ortega). I’m coming after you, you funny-sized Matt Serra,” Cejudo wrote on his Twitter account.

In addition to playing with the nickname used by Volkanovski, Henry also played with a historical situation within Ultimate. When remembering Matt Serra, the former flyweight (up to 56,7kg) and bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) champion, he suggests that the Australian occupies the featherweight throne by chance.

For shocking the world by dethroning Georges St-Pierre in 2007, Serra is still remembered as one of the greatest 'zebras' in the history of the sport. On that occasion, the American won the welterweight title (up to 77kg), but ended up losing the throne afterwards, in a rematch against GSP.

Willing to make history and become the organization's first fighter to add three titles to his history, Cejudo hasn't stepped into the octagon since his triumph over Dominick Cruz, in 2019. After beating the bantamweight icon, the athlete, still in the octagon, announced his retirement.
