One of the Brazilian stars in UFC Las Vegas 38, which takes place this Saturday (2), the athlete spoke exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS before your challenge against Niko Price. The fighter opened up about his moment in the company, analyzed his rival and highlighted plans for the future.

This weekend, Cowboy arrives for the challenge pressured for a positive result. Representative of the welterweight division (up to 77kg), the athlete has had two stumbles, but is ready to recover in the company.

Climate for the fight

Always relaxed, Alex has not strayed from one of his main characteristics. With a big smile, the fighter spoke about the feeling of being back in the Octagon and didn't hide his excitement.

“I'm feeling good, happy. I'm coming off a defeat, but I'm feeling good about myself. That's what matters. My mind is good and I'm ready for war, like that, happy”, said the Brazilian.

Complicated moment in the UFC

Famous for his aggressiveness inside the octagon, Alex has not been at his best since arriving at the organization. With five defeats in the last seven fights, the athlete did not shy away and spoke about what led him to his current situation in the company.

“I think we needed a little more patience, caution. It's catching your opponent and seeing that things are serious. Don't take it as a joke. Before, I saw a fighter (on the other side), but I wanted to play. With these defeats, we learn more and more. I'm going to bring this to my game now, this Saturday. A different Cowboy, but serious for the fight. I am sure, this moment is ours”, he assured.

Willing to get back on track to continue the path towards the top of the category led by Kamaru Usman, Alex showed that he knows the opponent with whom he will share the octagon this weekend. Knowing that he will face an athlete who likes open fighting, the Brazilian exposed his opponent's main characteristics.

“We studied him well. He's a tough guy who can take a lot of beatings. He knocked him out from below twice, he knocked him out when he was being knocked out. He sells his fights at a high price. I'm not behind. I arrived to show that I am better than him at the moment”, he said.

Optimal outcome

Used to leaving spectators agitated with his performances, the ideal outcome for Cowboy could not be different. The fighter avoids getting into shape, but claims to be prepared for a ‘full stop’ on the fast track.

“I see myself knocking out or submitting, because we're going to fight all the time. The raised arm will be mine. I’m sure of that,” she concluded.

Responsible for trying to ruin the Brazilian's party, Niko Price will be his 22nd fight in the sport. The fighter has 14 triumphs, five setbacks and two 'unsuccessful' clashes.
