A week ago, it was simply impossible for anyone to predict the outcome of the main event of the Jungle Fight 53. This is because, at that time, Rayner Silva, who surprised and won the organization's bantamweight belt, was not even scheduled for the card of the event held this Saturday (01), in Japeri (RJ).
The man from Manaus was hurriedly called up for the fight against title holder Arinaldo da Silva, after the injury of interim champion Robson New – who would fight to unify the bantamweight division belt. Even though he was unknown to the general public, Rayner won with aplomb and now he will be New's opponent when the undefeated Amapá native recovers from his injury.
And the “zebra” walked in style in the Jungle Arena. Without pressure, Rayner Silva assumed the stance of a sniper and attacked the champion right at the beginning of the fight, cornering Arinaldo. After two good right hands, Rayner knocked out the now former champion in just 54 seconds.
