the return of Nick Diaz to the Octagon after more than six years of inactivity was accompanied by some criticism from fans and the specialized press. Defeated by Robbie Lawler No. UFC 266, the veteran, however, won an unexpected compliment. Tuned into last weekend's show, Conor McGregor praised the performance of the former Strikeforce champion and took the opportunity to poke Nate, eternal rival and younger brother of 'bad boy'.

“Nick x Rob' was a good fight. The thrown kick at the beginning of the fight gave Nick trouble, but he was a veteran and was preparing good attacks. Diaz ended up receiving some hard blows to the body and Robbie was there, pressing hard, with experience throughout the round. I liked it”, wrote Conor, on his account on Twitter.
Although slower in the confrontation, Diaz was able to withstand part of the punishment imposed by Lawler and, at times, managed to surprise his opponent with punch combinations. The 'perseverance'bad boy' caught the attention of McGregor, who took the opportunity to compare his brother's styles, minimizing the talent of his former opponent, Nate.
“Nate, your boxing is piss compared to Nick’s. We have been fed garbage, your lazy style for the last few years. We can see a clear difference between the two brothers. Balance, composure. Another level your brother imposed on you. I made him successful”, concluded the Irishman.
The rivalry between Conor and Nate began in 2016, when the athletes faced each other on two occasions. In the dispute, a victory for each side. While Diaz submitted McGregor in a historic confrontation at UFC 196, the 'Notório' took the loss months later, beating his opponent on points.
Nick/Rob was a good fight. The spin kick at the start gave the ground on Nick but he was veteran composed and was peppering lovely shots in. He just ate some big body shots and there was more coming Robbie was strong to the body it was veteran work all round. I enjoyed thoroughly
