On the main card of UFC 266, Robbie Lawler derrotou Nick Diaz by technical knockout in the third round after his rival refused to get up after a series of hard blows. If in the first meeting between the two, in 2004, the atmosphere was provocative, including during the fight, the rematch 17 years later took place in a respectful tone.

“He didn’t give up. He is a warrior. It was a tough fight. He was there exchanging with me in the short distance. I have very hard blows and he was taking it. It was really a lot of damage. If you watch the fight again, it was a three-round war. I hit really hard and it wasn't his night. But it was a tough fight and I take my hat off to him”, said the former welterweight champion (under 77 kg)

The triumph over Nick Diaz was the first of Robbie Lawler since July 2017. At 39 years old, the former champion found his way back to victory after a sequence of four defeats and now says he is ready for the next challenge.

PUBLICITY:

“I'm sure the UFC will come up with something. Sanford MMA will make me ready to face anyone”, guaranteed Lawler.
