Sports legends Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones enter the UFC Hall of Fame

At the ceremony, the Canadian entered the category of fighters of the 'Modern Era', while 'Bones' and Alexander Gustafsson are part of the list of 'Best Fights' in history

The Ultimate Hall of Fame has a significant addition. On the eve of UFC 266 this Saturday (25), in Las Vegas, Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones they were honored with the honor and received a plaque with the new inscription. In addition to athletes, Alexander Gustafson, Kevin Randleman and Dustin poirier were also honored.

Considered, by many, as the greatest name in the history of welterweight (up to 77kg.), St-Pierre – who is retired from MMA – received a presentation from Royce gracie and entered the select list of great fighters of the 'Modern Era'. In the organization, the Canadian also wore the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg).

Jon Jones, in turn, is preparing for his debut in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg.). Still, 'Bones' was awarded, along with Alexander Gustafson, as one of the 'Best Fights' in the history of the franchise. In fact, last Tuesday (21), the fight completed eight years of existence.

Other tributes

In addition to GSP, a posthumous tribute took place at the event. Passed away in 2016, former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg.) Kevin Randleman also entered the list of fighters of the 'Modern Era'. Marc Ratner received the 'Contributor' award, while Dustin poirier received an honorable mention for his work at the NGO'The Good Fight Foundation'.
