All UFC No Combate 2 fighters passed anti-doping tests

Under TRT, Belfort was still required to undergo a blood test to check testosterone levels

The UFC announced, together with the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA), this Thursday (30), the results of anti-doping tests carried out at the UFC Combat 2, an event that took place two weeks ago in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina. The information was made public through a release of press.

“The UFC was informed by CABMMA that all fighters on the UFC on FX 8 card (as the event was called in the United States) passed anti-doping tests carried out before and after the event. The UFC fully supports the doping testing efforts of all regulatory agencies. All fighters are tested at all events and the organization maintains a strict and consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents.”

CABMMA, through medical director Márcio Tannure, explained to the MMA Brasil website that all fighters who perform in UFC events regulated by the commission are subjected to tests before the event and that six of them are drawn to retake after the event. Tests were carried out against anabolic steroids, performance enhancing drugs, as well as so-called social drugs such as marijuana and cocaine.

Still according to Tannure, Vitor belfort He was also required to undergo a blood test to check whether his testosterone levels were normal, as the fighter is undergoing testosterone replacement treatment, authorized by the CABMMA doctor himself.

UFC No Combate 2 was the first UFC event in Brazil with full control of CABMMA. Opened a few months ago, the commission had participated in the UFC Sao Paulo, but only as supervisor of the UFC's self-regulatory work. CABMMA is a member of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), the International MMA Federation, an entity based in Sweden that aims to unify the regulation of the sport in the world.
