Not only was it the dominant victory of Anthony Smith about Ryan spann that drew attention in the main fight of the UFC Las Vegas 37. After 'taking a walk' against a promise from the organization, the veteran was at the center of a start of confusion in the octagon, in which the organization's security guards had to intervene. At the press conference after the show, the former light heavyweight title challenger (up to 93kg) explained the situation.

“You don't have to like me. We don't have to get along, be friends. You might think you're going to beat me up, and sometimes you might, but I think respecting my journey is something I always expect from anyone. He (Spann) didn't respect it. He said he didn't care about what I've achieved (in the UFC), that he didn't care about 'main fights', who I defeated. He doesn't care about the bonuses. I bet he cares now,” Smith poked.

In the week of the confrontation, Anthony had already shown some discomfort about Spann's statements. During the promotion of the duel, Ryan minimized the dangers that could be posed by the veteran, who proved the opposite in the Octagon.

After the turmoil at the end of the dispute, tempers calmed down and the opponent of the former title challenger finally managed to get closer to his rival. The two sealed peace with a hug and put an end to their problems.
