UFC 160 breaks audience record in the early hours of Globo

Event in Las Vegas earned 8 points for the Rio broadcaster, Ultimate's best mark of the year

Even shown thirty minutes late in relation to the pay-per-view, UFC 160 broke an audience record in the early hours of Rede Globo in the early hours of Sunday (26). According to the specialized website RD1, the fights broadcast by the network registered 8 ratings points, an Ultimate record in 2013.

The numbers achieved are even more expressive if one considers the share (percentage of total televisions connected at the time). In this case, the transmission of UFC 160 reached 38% with the exhibition of the confrontation between Junior Gypsy e Mark Hunt and the heavyweight belt dispute between Antonio Pezão e Cain Velazquez, from 1:30 am.

The audience curve for Ultimate broadcasts by the Rio broadcaster has been inversely proportional to that of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 2, which has recorded much worse ratings than the first season – shown last year. A rumor about the end of TUF Brasil circulated in recent weeks, but was promptly denied by UFC and Globo.
