Next Saturday (25), Brian ortega challenge the champion Alexander Volkanovsky for the UFC featherweight title (up to 65 kg), in the main fight of UFC 266. In his second attempt to become division champion, Ortega already knows what he wants for the near future if he can achieve his goal.

Brian ortega has only one defeat in his career, suffered precisely in his first attempt to win the featherweight title, against the then champion Max Holloway. It is this fight that the challenger would like to do again as soon as he becomes the belt holder.
“That would be ideal. I'm not trying to leave Volkanovski behind, because he's already beaten Max (Holloway) twice, so I'm not celebrating anything, but it would be ideal. I'm a better person and a better fighter than I was when I fought him and, watching his last fight, I know he is too,” said Ortega in an interview with the North American website MMAFighting.com.

On that occasion, the then-champion gave a true stand-up fighting lesson, breaking the record for significant strikes (290) before medical interruption between the fourth and fifth rounds. Ortega admitted that the only blemish among 15 victories on his professional record bothers him.
“I’m competitive. I want to tie the score. This bothers me. I go into my record and I'm like: 'shit, he won that one. But I don't hate him either. I'm a calm guy, but I'm from the ghetto, let's do this fight again (laughs). We will do it again, we will always do it again. Even if he f***ed me again, I would face him 100 times. One I win”, concluded Ortega.
In addition to the featherweight title fight, the UFC 266 count with Valentina Shevchenko defending the flyweight title (up to 56,7 kg) against Lauren Murphy.
