The TUF Brasil 2 semifinalists have been defined. In the 11th episode of the series, shown this Sunday (26), the Argentine Santiago Ponzinibbio defeated Cleiton Foguete in a unanimous decision by the judges and guaranteed his presence in the next phase. Now he joins William Patolino, Leo Santos e Viscardi Andrade in search of a contract with the UFC
The program
This Sunday's episode got off to a rocky start. After the Minotauro team attacked the Werdum team inside the van, last week, this time the counterattack took place.
The yellow team “kidnapped” Eric Albarracin, the green team's wrestling coach, and took him to the minibus. With Eric tied up, Werdum demanded that he say 'I'm team Werdum'. But when Albarracin didn't accept it, he ended up having his hair shaved.
After that Eric was taken to the house where the athletes are confined. He was tied to a tree by Werdum's team, who then set off several fireworks.
When the athletes from the Minotauro team saw the scene, they thought it was a trap. But when they discovered that the teacher had actually been taken hostage, they tried to save the master. The fighters attacked the yellow team with eggs and then released Albarracin, who was outraged by the joke.
In a small attempt at revenge, Eric Albarracin tried to throw a mixture of water, eggs and flour at the Werdum team during a pole dancing class, but the mixture ended up hitting the teacher.
The fight
With two athletes from the Rodrigo Minotauro In the fight, the team's coaches were divided. Minotouro guided Santiago, while Dórea, boxing coach, assisted Foguete.
The fight started off disputed. Santiago took the initiative in the attack, but Foguete responded to the attacks with powerful punches. With the fight balanced in striking, the Argentine sought the clinch and took Cleiton to the ground.
On the ground, he took him to half guard and worked with some punches, but the Brazilian managed to get up and the fight returned to the feet. Looking to make up the difference, Foguete landed a good high kick at the end of the round.
In the second round, history repeated itself. The duel started out balanced in terms of striking, but as soon as he felt a blow applied by Cleiton, Santiago took the fight to the ground and kept his opponent on his back on the ground until the end.
After two rounds, Santiago Ponzinibbio defeated Cleiton Foguete via unanimous decision by the judges. “The first Argentine to enter TUF, the first Argentine to reach the final, the first Argentine to be TUF champion and the first Argentine in the UFC,” said Santiago.
Next program
The next episode, the last of this season, will host the two semifinals and the finalists of the UFC reality show will be known. Santiago Ponzinibbio, Leo Santos e William Patolino from the Minotauro team, and Viscardi Andrade from the Werdum team, are still alive in the dispute.
