The rivalry between Edwards and Masvidal emerged in 2019. During a UFC event in London, the two athletes clashed and almost came to blows. Since then, the fighters have started to constantly provoke each other on social media.

Current number three in the rankings, Leon has been riding an incredible streak of nine consecutive victories. His last defeat was in December 2015 to the still young prospect Kamaru Usman. The English athlete has a record of 19 triumphs and three setbacks.
