Considered one of the UFC's biggest prospects, Sean O'Malley hinted that his future could be outside the organization. The bantamweight fighter (up to 61,2kg) stated that he plans to stay in the UFC, but that, at the end of his contract, he wants to hear other proposals and test himself in the market. The statement was given in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.

“I really plan on staying in the UFC. I think I belong in the UFC. But if I get offers twice as much money to go somewhere else…. I love boxing, let's see where this goes. Like I said, I love the UFC, they've been great to me. I think that after this contract ends, they will have no problem paying me what I think I deserve. But maybe we are in a completely different mindset. They might not think I deserve half a million or whatever the number is. I've been to five pay per view consecutively”, said 'Sugar'.
The North American admitted that he could renew at that moment, but that he prefers to wait for the end of his contract to be able to hear other proposals.
“I could probably renegotiate a contract now with the UFC, but then, I wouldn't receive offers from other places. I'm not necessarily thinking about leaving, I'm not necessarily thinking about going to other places, but we'll see what other opportunities present themselves”, concluded the bantamweight.
Fueled by two consecutive victories, Sean is looking to get a place in the top-15 of the division led by aljamain sterling. In his last five duels, the fighter achieved four positive results. At 26 years old, 'Sugar' has a record of 14 triumphs and one setback.
