Antonio Pezão will have the chance to bring the Ultimate heavyweight belt to Brazil. But to do so he will have to defeat the champion Cain Velazquez in the main fight of UFC 160, an event that takes place next Saturday (25), in Las Vegas. Although the American of Mexican descent defeated the Brazilian in his debut in the Octagon, in May 2012, the Brazilian athlete reveals that the nervousness of his first fight in the UFC hindered his performance.
“As it was my first fight in the UFC, I was a little nervous. That got in the way. Now, I treat this fight as another important one in my career,” he said. “This time, I’m going into this fight without a hint of nervousness,” added Pezão.
Despite the difficulties surrounding his debut, the Brazilian recognized the merits of his opponent, but promises to be better prepared to try to win the sport's most noble belt. “I was a bit unlucky on that occasion, as the cut really bothered me, but it was Cain's credit. Now I’m prepared to face the fight on the ground,” he concluded.
