The Affliction organization wants to take advantage of EliteXC's bankruptcy to increase its roster of fighters. The vice-president of the event, Tom Atencio stated that he is keeping an eye on athletes from the competing organization
“It has come to my understanding that EliteXC is releasing fighters, but I don't know if it is fact or fiction. I think that at the moment, we have to observe, let's start talking to the athletes about the events and see the issue of their contracts, or if we will have to sign new commitments”, said Atencio.
“We are certainly interested in promoting fighting between women in MMA. Gina Carano is a great fighter, and I think Chris Cyborg an unbelievable fighter. I'm definitely open to the idea of doing this fight,” said the manager.
