Another regrettable case of domestic violence was recorded involving a mixed martial arts fighter. In the early hours of this Friday (10), Jason Miller, a former UFC middleweight fighter (up to 83,9kg), was arrested after being accused of assaulting a woman, in Los Angeles (USA). The information was released by the North American website 'TMZ'.

According to the report, Miller was arrested at 3 a.m. after police found a woman with visible signs of injuries to her face and neck. Still, the former fighter remained in the house, but refused to collaborate with the police. He even received a shock from a taser – an electroshock weapon. His bail was set at US$1,3 million (about R$6,8 million).

What happened is nothing new and was just another case in a long list. In 2017, Miller pleaded guilty to a single count of domestic violence while receiving a four-year suspended sentence and three years of probation for incidents with three different girlfriends between 2015 and 2017.

Another serious incident occurred in 2014, when he was involved in a five-hour standoff with a SWAT team outside his home while updating his Twitter account, even as police arrived to serve a warrant for “alleged pursuit of House". He has also been arrested on two other occasions, when he was accused of first-degree robbery, illegal taking of a vehicle and car theft.

Jason Miller retired in 2016 and his last fight was against Mattia Schiavolin, at Venator FC. The North American had some standout moments in MMA, such as being a coach on the 14th season of TUF (The Ultimate Fighter), alongside Michael Bisping and having disputed the Strikeforce and Dream middleweight belts (83,9kg), respectively, against Jake Shields and Ronaldo 'Jacaré'.
