Kirill Tereshin, popularly known as 'Popeye', is once again dealing with a problem that constantly haunts him. Known worldwide for having injected synthol – a combination of olive oil, lidocaine and benzyl alcohol – in his arms, the Russian fighter suffered a serious injury to his biceps while trying to land blows on his opponent.

In the video, it is possible to see Popeye engaging in frank exchanges against his opponent. Then the arms began to swell and the fight was stopped.
The fighter ruptured the area, which swelled instantly, and was unable to remain in the fight. He now needs to undergo surgery on his muscles and is at risk of having two of his limbs amputated.
This is not the first time that Kirill has had problems with his muscles. The fighter frequently reports, on his social networks, that he deals with fevers, arm pain and muscle weakness due to his use of synthol. In the past, the Russian has also applied oil to his calf and, in the same way, found other problems.
Despite the injury, the fight was not valid for professional MMA. Tereshin has just one fight – and loss – on his record, when he was submitted by Oleg Perekhozhev, in October 2019.
