Vitor Belfort says he wants to reschedule boxing fight against Oscar De La Hoya

The 'Phenomenon' even said that the fight could take place in 2021

Initially scheduled to face Oscar De La Hoya in the main fight of the 'Thriller Fight Club' this Saturday (11), Vitor belfort saw his opponent change after the 'Golden Boy' tested positive for COVID-19 and now faces Holyfield. The 'Phenomenon', however, guarantees that he still wants to face the former world champion in his boxing career.

“I'm coming after you, Oscar. I want to melt that pot of gold of yours. I just hope he is well and healthy. His life is my number one concern. We're in the pandemic and it's crazy, but this is the fight to make”, said Belfort, in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.

Even though he admits that his focus is on the need to beat Holyfield, Vitor has already planned a date to measure his strength against De La Hoya. According to him, the duel could still happen in 2021.

“We’re going to have to make it happen. I think 'Triller' will make it happen by the end of the year. Not over yet. The fans want this fight, so it will happen”, concluded the Brazilian.

A professional since 1996, Belfort is considered by many to be one of the greatest fighters in MMA history and has a record of 26 wins, 14 losses and one unsuccessful fight in his career. At 44 years old, the 'Phenomenon' has already had a professional boxing match and, in 2006, knocked out Josemario Neves.
