Chad Mendes and Clay Guida should face each other at UFC 164The duel that should have taken place at UFC On FOX 7, in April, should be held at UFC 164, in August. As announced on Tuesday night's edition of the UFC Tonight program, Chad Mendes e Clay guida they will finally measure forces in the Octagon.

Although UFC Tonight is an official program of the organization, Ultimate has not yet made the match official, which should happen soon. Guida was injured and had to be removed from UFC On FOX 7. In his place was Darren Elkins, who had the longest unbeaten streak for a featherweight in the UFC. However, Elkins' undefeated streak was short-lived against Mendes, who finished him off in sixty-eight seconds.

The duel against Mendes will be an opportunity for Guida to erase the bad impressions left in his last fights. Normally seen as an exciting fighter, he lost to Gray Maynard in an outstanding performance and beat Hatsu Hioki in a controversial decision, this time as a featherweight.

On the other hand, the confrontation could represent the final step for Mendes towards another title shot in the category.
