“I went backstage to see Darren after the fight, he was very disappointed, of course, but he was a man and held his own. He was frustrated and understandably so. I spent about 30 minutes with him and Colin Heron, talking to him and giving advice. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but there was an injury before the fight. He tore his anterior cruciate ligament about 10 weeks ago and never talked about it,” Bisping revealed.

Bisping, however, did not take away the merits of Derek Brunson for the victory achieved.

“It’s an excuse, a reason, whatever you want to call it. He never mentioned it and I'm sure Derek had issues too. With this type of injury, he said he used all types of medical treatments before the fight. Without the injury, his performance would be different, but you can't take away the merits of Derek Brunson at that night. Darren chose to fight”, concluded the former champion.

Until now, Darren till and his team did not comment on the alleged injury. If confirmed, it is likely that the Brit will be away from the octagon for approximately a year.
