A personal friend of Cristiano Ronaldo, the MMA legend admitted to having become aware of the Portuguese star's transfer to Manchester United even before it was announced in the press. In conversation with journalists in Russia, the former UFC champion spoke about the subject.

“A month ago he told me he was moving to Manchester United. I expected this negotiation to happen. I think Manchester United is better suited for him than Juventus. For me, the transfer was not a surprise”, revealed Nurmagomedov.

A self-confessed admirer of football, Khabib flirts with an old desire to become a professional in the sport. A few weeks ago, the athlete stirred the sports press with the possibility of playing for a team in his country.

While he has not confirmed his move to the new sport, Nurmagomedov remains retired from MMA. Today, the 'Eagle' is dedicated to training talents at the 'American Kickboxing Academy' and, to date, is undefeated in his career as a coach.

Cristiano's official debut for United is confirmed for September 11th. The star's return to the club will be against Newcastle.
